Notarisation of your translations
Consultra can obtain legal notarial certification for your translations and apostilles from the state chancellery, if required.
In Switzerland, with the exception of Geneva, there are no sworn translators or translation companies which can undertake legally valid translations. The translation documents must therefore be certified at a notary's office or in some cantons by a freelance notary.
A translation by Consultra itself must and can only be certified by a notary. The notary's office does not check translations but only confirms the signed sentence that the translation has been carried out by a member of Consultra "to the best of one's knowledge and belief".
Apostilles made by the state chancellery (certification of the notary's signature) are usually required by foreign consulates. The apostille can be obtained by Consultra or by the client. The obtaining of an apostille from the state chancellery for the translation requiring the apostille, is then carried out by the consulate or embassy in that country for which the translation is requested.
